This purchase was pretty much an instant regret unfortunately, I hoped it was an upgrade from our Samsung debacle but apparently it's no longer important for you to enter the cook time with GE. It should be in 15 sec increments, well not the case with baby formula and not the case with eggs. The sterile light also belongs in hospital setting and not a home. Also we vent outside but this is still blowing air inside as well, no one with common sense made this. I'll see if I can convince wife to go to LG

I purchased a GE Profile oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave, and the stove burners stopped working the first week and the refrigerator has a loud rattling sound that won™€™t stop. Well over a month into trying to get the stove and refrigerator fixed. Buying GE appliances was a horrible mistake that will never happen again. I™€™ll also never do business with Home Depot again.

Replaced 12 year old GE convection that kept blowing cooktop bulbs. Simple install, similar controls as my older version, sans convection that I don™€™t think I ever used. We followed the instructions to install, and then figure out that it would have fit exactly into the old frame, so wasted about an hour removing the old wall connections™€¦. Great having a dial to easily add seconds, or can just hit 30 second button a few times. LOVE the pull out vent that covers the entire cook surface! It is a bit louder than my prior model, so really a 4.5. No problems whatsoever.

Not a fan of the lack of numbers pad. You must twist a knob to set a time and it goes in 15 second increments. After 4 minutes then it goes to 30 second increments. Also vent fan is VERY noisy

I™€™ve always trusted GE because their microwaves used to feel solid and well built. This model does not. The door sounds tinny and hollow when closing, and the bottom vent panel rattles while in use. It works, but it feels cheaply made. If build quality and noise matter to you, look elsewhere.

Get Rid Of The Knob

We replaced another GE profile microwave with this one since I wanted a microwave that had a an exhaust fan that extended over the front burners (my stove has the large burners in the front). My husband swapped them out pretty easily. The one I replaced was powerful and heated things very quickly. I love the ability to press on the hood and have the exhaust fan extend over the front burners to help suck up the smells (from frying in particular). This model doesn™€™t have the panel with the numbers making it cumbersome to set exact cooking times; instead it has a knob that sets the time and also the different modes. I HATE this knob because now I have to set the time closest to the time I want and then once the microwave goes on (per GE) I have to adjust to the time I actually want (which gets confusing since it keeps counting down while I™€™m trying to set it). It™€™s really annoying that it™€™s set up to increase/decrease in 15 second/minute increments. Who thought this was a good idea? Other than that, it works well, and it™€™s manufactured to work with a GE profile stove (while my stove is GE it™€™s not a profile one so this feature doesn™€™t work.) I would have checked the reviews prior to buying this (my husband purchased it) and if I saw a review like mine, I wouldn™€™t have purchased it. All of my other GE appliances work well (love the dishwasher) but this microwave falls short. Sorry GE

Shows 4 grease filters, only comes with 2

I have spoken with two different agents, chatted with another agent, and two out of the three are insisting on gaslighting me that this unit only has 2 grease filters despite the photos on this page showing 4 and the owner™€™s manual referencing 4. My unit only came with the front two that are only used when the hood is extended. I would love to buy the two for the back that are always exposed and used when the exhaust is being used. But because the diagram on GE™€™s website doesn™€™t give a part number and doesn™€™t show those grease filters, GE™€™s agents are acting like they don™€™t exist. Obviously there should be grease filters there because otherwise those back vents are exposed which leaves everything behind those vents, including the LED wiring, exposed to grease. And again, the photo on this page and the picture in the owner™€™s manual show FOUR grease filters. I want the ones for the back, I will pay for the ones that go on the back. I just need to know the part number because the ones that go on the back are smaller, I can™€™t use the same ones from the front. I estimate the back ones need to be around 4.5™€ x 7.5™€ where the front ones that are on the extended hood are 5.5™€ x 7.5™€.

Too Much Knob Turning and Pushing

The push button knob is very annoying. Instead of a keypad with 10 digits you have to push and turn this knob to enter numbers. A lot of pushing and turning of the knob. For microwave time, the time is in 15 second increments, with a keypad you could put in exactly the time you want. Not a well thought out design.

So far so good. Very nice appliance, and obvious quality. I like the ergonomic controls and roller dial rather than keypad to set cook duration. I'm still getting used to the dark gray interior. It'll grow on me eventually. The exhaust fan is crazy powerful and the ability to connect to exterior venting is a huge bonus.

Appreciate the easy-to-use touchscreen and dial combination. Microwave is very powerful, and the extra pop-out ventilation hood is awesome. I use it all the time when cooking on my range. The only thing that would have been helpful would be a rack--I didn't realize the microwave didn't come with one, and there aren't any peg-holes on the sides to attach one.

Just got it installed last night. I'm going to love the extra fan. From the photos it looked obnoxiously large, but it isn't, and is so easy to use. You just push on it and it goes in or out very nicely. It was easy for the installers, complete with template, etc. I heated up a up of water and it was easy. Now to learn the controls. I still haven't figured out the knob, but it shouldn't be hard.

I love GE Microwaves. I have used many different brands in places I have lived as well as other people's homes. GE has always stood out to me for the best performance. This microwave works well and no issues so far. However, I am pretty disappointed in the build quality, especially for the price. The cheapo whirlpool I took out was way more sturdy and felt like it would hold up to daily use better. This new microwave was kind of a stretch on the price for me, and the door just feels cheap. and will possibly break over time, if not careful. I'm just disappointed to spend so much money on a premium product and to find out it is cheaply built. It does seem to work well, and I really like the 400 cfm fan with the extension, but I still regret upgrading at this point.

Great microwave. Cooks food as expected and the large interior is nice. The controls are simple and easy to use. We thought the knob to set the cook time might be bothersome but it™€™s really not bad. The microwave itself and the fan are both on the loud side. I thought for a modern microwave it would be a bit quieter. The extending fan is a nice feature and it definitely helps capture a little more steam and smells. I would recommend this microwave.

Thought I would love this microwave. Like the adjustable stove vent, capacity, features. Heats quickly and evenly. Then the interior light stopped working about a month after I bought it. Can get the light to flicker if I slap the top of the interior. Of course this light is not accessible so it looks like I'll just have to do without.

Love the functionality but not the durability

In general I've been happy with the functionality of this microwave, but I've been deeply disappointed in the durability of both this and the GE Profile gas range that sits below it. On both the microwave and the range, the handles have delaminated. What looks like aluminum or stainless is a sheet of silver-colored paper (for lack of a better word), which has wrinkled up to the point that it looks as if it's about to come off. This has made our kitchen look less than optinal, though we're far from being ready to replace the applicances. I'll think twice when we do before purchasing GE again. I am attempting to add images and will do so if I can.

When I removed the dish, it chipped out a piece of glass from the turntable. Very disappointing. Had my old microwave (LG) for 12 years and never replaced one thing on the microwave. I hope this isn't an indication of things continuing to break. Will have to see how things go.

Warning: Halogen light is hazardous

I bought this to replace an over-the-range microwave that died and it fills the space perfectly and looks good. However, the ™€œsurface light™€ which shines over the stove is so ugly. It™€™s off- center and the halogen bulb glares through the glass, plus it™€™s *dangerously* hot! If you use that lamp it also makes the inside of the microwave oven super hot ™€" I put a little room thermometer inside and it™€™s reading 100+degrees F, and mind you, this is without having used the microwave for cooking, just from having the light on. It™€™s really poor product design ™€" I can™€™t understand why anyone is using halogen bulbs like this anymore.

Fast forward it looks nice and the surface light is bright which I am thoroughly excited about. I tested other functions and was quite surprise. The reheat button I am impress. Definitely a big upgrade from our prior microwave. Works well so far and the fan is great ( this was one of the reasons we upgraded) Not a huge fan of the dial to determine the time, but this isn't a huge inconvenience

Controls are disappointing

It works well for heating, but I miss the 5 instant minute buttons from previous models. New controls are somewhat cumbersome and not intuitive, requiring many more strokes or actions.

Really like the expanding vent hood. Syncing the microwave with the oven via Bluetooth, so the lights and vent automatically come on when a stove top burner us turned on is a very nice feature.
